What this feature does, in short
Every translated video in CHAMELAION comes with clean SRT subtitle files you can export, review, and edit. Update the source SRT to keep all target languages aligned automatically, or upload a target language SRT to update only that language. Your video stays CHAMELAION level, with original voices, Background Sounds, and Lip-Sync preserved when you regenerate. 👍
What an SRT file is
SRT, short for SubRip Text, is a simple subtitle format that contains numbered cues, speaker numbers, time codes, and the subtitle text. It opens in any text editor and is widely used for review and localisation workflows 💯.

SRT export and reupload are available on Silver, Gold, and Enterprise plans and work across 28+ languages 🌍.

Export an SRT
Open your translated video.
On the right, select a language.
Click the Choose SRT and click the Download button. Share it for review, or make edits directly.
Reupload to update the transcript.
You have two choices, depending on what you want to change:
Update the source for everything.
Upload an updated Source SRT. CHAMELAION automatically realigns and propagates changes across all target languages. Then click Generate so the updates are included in the media.Update only specific languages.
Upload a target language SRT for the language you want to change, and make sure that you click the delete button for all languages that you do not want to regenerate. Then simply click Generate to bake those edits into your selected language(s).
What stays preserved
When you regenerate after an SRT update, your chosen options carry over:
Original cloned voices remain the same.
Background Sounds stay according to your selection.
Lip-Sync, if enabled, is applied again so mouth movements match the updated words.
How SRT sync works in CHAMELAION, in simple terms
The Source SRT is your master transcript. Edit it once, and CHAMELAION keeps all target languages aligned.
If a single language needs a special tweak, upload that target SRT to override just that one.
Timing and audio are updated, and Lip-Sync aligns to the new words if selected.
Troubleshooting
Upload failed: Make sure the file is a standard SubRip
.srt, not another subtitle format. Check encoding and time codes.Timing looks off: Reupload the Source SRT, then Generate. Targets will realign.
Only one language is wrong: Upload the target-language SRT and generate only that language.
Lip-Sync did not reflect edits: Ensure Lip-Sync is enabled for the render. It will align to the updated text when you generate.
