Invoices, VAT, and Receipts

Understand invoices and VAT for CHAMELAION's video translation, where to download each invoice and how to update billing details if your translator account changes.

Invoices

  • You receive a PDF invoice by email after every successful charge.

  • You can download invoices at any time on the platform, via the Plans page: Manage subscription.

  • Each invoice lists the plan name, billing period, price in the charged currency, and any taxes.

VAT

  • Prices on our Plans are net; VAT is added at checkout based on your billing country and tax status.

  • To have VAT itemised on your invoice, in Stripe checkout, tick “I am buying as a business”, enter your Company name and your VAT ID, German Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer. Example format DE123456789.

Receipts

  • Stripe also emails a payment receipt. The receipt confirms the charge; the invoice is your tax document.

  • You also get receipts through your payment method, such as your credit card provider or PayPal.

Update or fix billing details

  • Update company name, address, VAT ID, and payment method through our Plans page: Manage subscription.

  • Changes apply to future invoices. If an issued invoice contains an error, contact support, and we will help you with a corrected document or a credit note 😉.

Common issues

  • VAT ID rejected, use the full format with country code, make sure the Business box is checked, and the billing country matches the VAT ID.

  • Did not receive the invoice, check spam, or download it from our Plan page: Manage Subscription.
