What you can upload

CHAMELAION supports all the most common file types for Audio and Video, including: MP4 路 MOV 路 MP3 路 WAV

Tip: If your file uses a rare format or codec, transcode to MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio before uploading. This avoids most import errors馃槃.

Size and length limits

Per file

There are no limitations for what you can upload when it comes to file-size or length of the video/audio馃憤.

However, it depends on how many tokens you have left if you have the ability to translate larger and longer files. Make sure to check on your token balance before you upload huge files馃.

Per workspace

  • Monthly translation or dubbing minutes are limited by your plan and shown under Billing and in your Settings.

    • For more information, visit our Pricing, Billing and Invoicing collection 馃憤.

Audio handling, background noise, and music

  • CHAMELAION automatically eliminates background noise.

  • We run audio through our own audio source separation models: One model for speech and one for background sounds.

  • We create two tracks, one with clean speech only and one with all other sounds. This happens whether or not you choose to keep background audio.

  • The Keep background audio option controls whether the separated background track is mixed back into your export.

  • Keep in mind that background noise is very different from background music or sound. CHAMELAION will always remove background noise, such as distortions.

Why uploads sometimes fail

  • Variable frame rate or corrupted media that is hard to decode.

  • Using a container or codec outside the supported set listed above.

  • DRM-protected files or streaming links instead of actual files.
