Quick definitions
Dubbing minutes
A simple way to think about capacity. It is the length of your video in minutes, multiplied by the number of target languages.
Example: a 1-minute video translated into three languages equals three dubbing minutes.
Tokens
Tokens are our usage currency. Duration-based actions spend tokens per second, text-based actions spend tokens per 1,000 characters. On our Plans page, you can see exactly how many tokens each plan includes per cycle. You will also see “equals X minutes of video translation.” This helps you estimate volume.
Tip: Minutes help you eyeball how much work you can do; tokens are what you actually spend.
Token rates, at a glance
Video Translation: 12,000 tokens per minute, 200 tokens per second.
Lip Sync: 12,000 tokens per minute, 200 tokens per second.
Text-to-Speech: 3,000 tokens per 1,000 characters, three tokens per character.
Text Translation: 1,000 tokens per 1,000 characters, one token per character.
Audio Transcription: 600 tokens per minute, 10 tokens per second.
Billing is to the second for time-based items, and by characters for text. We do not round your videos to the next minute. We are not a parking lot 😉. For more information, visit our Pricing page or take a look at our Pricing, Billing and Invoicing collection.
How minutes and tokens work together
Dubbing minutes = source duration in minutes × number of selected target languages.
Tokens used = processed seconds × the token rate of each feature you turned on, for example, Video Translation, plus Lip Sync if enabled, multiplied by the number of languages.
The calculator on our Pricing page lets you plug in your variables, such as monthly videos, average length, number of languages, and Lip Sync on or off. It then sets the plan slider for you, so you can pick a plan that fits your needs perfectly.
Tip: You are in the middle of the month, and you used more tokens than you anticipated; no problem. Just fill up your tokens by buying one of our token packs and get back to work 👍. No need to upgrade your plan just for this occasion.
What counts toward dubbing minutes
We count the source duration you process, multiplied by the target languages.
Trimmed ranges only count the selected segment.
Automatic steps like background audio preservation and multi-speaker handling are included and do not require extra tokens.
Retries and cancellations: tokens are counted for the seconds that were processed. If a job fails, ping support, and we will review your credits.
What spends tokens
Video Translation per processed second, per target language.
Lip Sync per processed second, per target language, when you switch it on.

Examples with real numbers
A) Single language quick dub
Input: 2:10 to German, Lip Sync off
Duration: 130 seconds
Video Translation: 130 × 200 = 26,000 tokens
Total: 26,000 tokens
Reference: that is a bit over 2 minutes of base translation capacity.
B) Two languages with Lip Sync
Input: 5:00 to Spanish and French, Lip Sync on
Duration: 300 seconds, two languages
Video Translation: 300 × 200 × 2 = 120,000 tokens
Lip Sync: 300 × 200 × 2 = 120,000 tokens
Total: 240,000 tokens
Real-world planning: if you do 20 videos per month, 5 minutes each, two languages, Lip Sync on, the calculator recommends Gold 500, which shows 6,000,000 tokens, roughly 500 minutes of base translation, with Lip Sync already considered in the calculator math. This makes finding the plan that fits you perfectly simple 😄.
Where to see your balance
If you are unsure how many tokens you have left in this cycle, click your account icon in the upper right corner at any time. A panel will show your current plan, when the next token cycle begins, or when the next reset is, the tokens included in your plan, the tokens you have already used, and your remaining tokens.
How to top up or change plan
Go to the Plans page by clicking the Plans icon in the upper right corner. There you can:
Calculate a plan that fits perfectly for you,
Change plans directly if you already know what you need,
Top up your tokens for this cycle only by buying a token package.
Note: Tokens from token packages are a one-time purchase and remain in your balance only for the current cycle. Tokens do not roll over into the next cycle. You can check when the next cycle starts by clicking your account icon in the upper right corner.
