Short answer:
You own your originals and the outputs. CHAMELAION does not claim copyright in what you create with the service. We only process your files to deliver the translation and dubbing you request.
What this means in practice
Your rights stay with you. All rights in your uploaded files and in the generated results remain with you. We just get a limited, non-exclusive license to process them so we can provide the service.
Processing: We store your content as long as you have an account with us. If you delete a project or a file, we will, of course, also immediately delete all of the content and any information related to it.
Sub-processors under DPAs. Certain providers help us deliver features such as voice cloning and translation under data-processing agreements and EU safeguards. See the privacy policy for details on ElevenLabs, DeepL, and OpenAI.
If your uploads include third-party personal data, you must have a lawful basis, for example, consent.

Who owns my original videos and audio?
You do, you retain full ownership of your content.
Who owns the translated or dubbed outputs?
You do, the outputs belong to you. We only process your files to deliver translation and dubbing.
What can CHAMELAION do with my files?
Only what is needed to provide the service, for example, temporary storage and processing.
Do you keep my content?
We only keep your content for as long as you have an account with us and choose not to delete your project. Should you close your CHAMELAION account or delete a file/project, we will, of course, automatically and immediately delete all content and any information attached to it.
Where is the data processed, and who helps you?
We host in Europe and use vetted subprocessors under Data Processing Addenda, for example, Google, ElevenLabs, DeepL, and OpenAI. Transfers use EU safeguards such as the Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
