How it works
Single payer per project: the creator of a project funds all token-based actions that occur within that project💸.
What consumes tokens? Actions like translating a file, regenerating segments, and enabling Lip Sync consume tokens. Lip Sync offers additional use cases beyond translation.
Uploads into a shared project. If a collaborator uploads a new file directly into your project, processing that file also uses your tokens.
Not enough tokens. If the owner’s balance is insufficient, no one in that project can run token-based actions, even if collaborators have tokens of their own.
Ownership reminder: Projects you create stay in My Projects for you. Teammates you invite see them in Shared Projects. You can invite people only after they are part of your team.
Who pays?
Your project, your teammate works on it, and your tokens are used.
On your teammate’s project, you work on it; their tokens are used.
You upload a file to your teammate’s project, and their tokens are used.
They upload a file into your project, and your tokens are used.
Examples
Example 1: You are the owner💰.
You invite a teammate to your team, then add them to your project with Edit rights. They translate the video into five languages and enable lip-sync. All token usage is deducted from your balance.
Example 2: You are a collaborator🤑.
Your teammate invites you to their team, creates a project, and adds you as Editor. Any translation or regeneration you perform in that project uses their tokens. If their balance runs out, you cannot run translations until they top up or upgrade.
Best practices
Agree on who owns which project. Ownership decides who pays.
Keep personal and client work separate. Create one project per client or production to keep token responsibility clear.
Check token status before big jobs. If you are the owner, verify your balance or plan before long videos or Lip Sync runs.
FAQ
Do collaborators ever pay inside my project? No. Only the project owner’s tokens are used.
Can I pool tokens across the team? Not at the moment. Token usage is tied to the project owner.
What happens if I remove someone from my team? Removing a user from "Team Management" revokes their access to all shared projects. Removing them from Edit Project stops access to that single project.
Where can I see or add tokens? Check your plan and remaining tokens under your profile settings. Upgrading your plan increases the number of included tokens, and resets follow your plan cycle.
Does Lip Sync cost extra tokens?
Yes, enabling Lip Sync adds token usage in addition to translation.
